Peneraju Percetakan Bumiputra Semenjak 1960

Pustaka Aman Press (PAP) was established in 1960 by Haji Hassan Bin Yaacob with an initial capital of RM15,000. It’s main function was publishing and printing Islamic books ranging from the translation of Al-Quran to Islamic mysticism and Islamic teaching. PAP was considered to be the pioneer publisher and printer in Kelantan as well as in Malaysia owned by a sole-proprietor.

On the 5th February 1976, PAP was incorporated into a Private Company with an authorised capital and paid-up of RM1,000.000.00 an RM500,003.00 respectively. The company then was known as Pustaka Aman Press Sdn. Bhd.

A dynamic and aggressive entrepreneur - Haji Hassan bin Haji Yaacob - managed the company as a one-man-show. He was in charge of all business activities which included publication, production, marketing and collection. during the early days of PAP’s operation, he even visited all his agents throughout Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak almost every month.

In the early 60’s, PAP was the sole publisher for religious textbooks (Pengetahuan Agama Islam - Form 1 to Form 5). Undeniably, the company made a fortune from the sales of these books. Nevertheless, when Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) which is a government owned publisher and printer was given a mandate to produce school textbooks,PAP had experienced a slight decline in its revenue. Since DBP was still incapable of producing various textbooks at a large scale, PAP continued producing those books until 1980.

Nowadays, besides publishing and printing Islamic, academic, children’, and computer books, PAP also accepts jobbing and printing contract from government sectors, private companies and individuals. PAP’s printing services ranges from books to magazines, brochures; pamphlets, calendars, posters, newsletters, circulars, and 4-colour printing jobs and others.

Ever since the establishment of PAP, it had undergone tremendous improvement both in terms of management and operations. Under the leadership of its current Managing Director, Mr. Aman Bin Haji Hassan, PAP is continuously upgrading its machinery, working space, marketing activities, work force as well as diversifying its business lines. Until now, PAP has already diversified its business lines to paper and printing materials supplier (Syarikat Akmal), hotel management (Hotel Aman), property and housing projects (Taman Aman & Taman Sari) and non- profit private Primary School (Sekolah Rendah Swasta Sri Aman).

PAP is committed towards continuous expansion in order to fulfill their objectives as well s to meet the aspirations and challenge of the nation’s VISION 2020.
